In case your response is the third one, there are many people who’ve never heard of Substack. It’s sort of like (the old) Twitter, but with long-form writing, video and podcasts. That means any yahoo can setup a Substack page and start cranking out content, but famous people are on there, too. You can keep an eye on Roxanne Gay, Ann Patchett, John Cleese, etc.. And, like other platforms, many people only have accounts so they can read/watch what others are posting.

I’ve joined the party because my blog needs a jolt and it looks like Substack is the way. Substack was founded in 2017 and by 2021 its content providers (regular people and famous) had acquired over one million subscriptions. A mere five years later and I’m in! And I’m in good company.
