Boycott Amazon

An organization called The People’s Union is organizing a series of boycotts to protest the greed of corporations, especially now that so many are aligning themselves with the Tronf administration.

The first was Friday, Feb. 28, 2025 when participants made no purchases, online or in person, unless it was critical. Anyone who needed to make a purchase was encouraged to spend at local businesses, preferably using cash.

I appreciated when some participants reminded people that when you use a debit card or credit card, you’re feeding the banks and corporations. A percentage of every sale by card goes to those institutions. Paying with cash is resistance you can do every day. It’s also important to push back on the default use of cards because not everyone has the ability to get a bank or credit card. Moving away from cash leaves out a lot of people.

If you didn’t know about the February 28 boycott, there are plenty more coming. Longer boycotts are more effective, so consider the next one: we’re boycotting Amazon.com from Friday, March 7 to Friday, March 14, 2025. Here are the rest:

Longer boycotts get more attention from corporations. Please join us.

P.S. Amazon owns a lot of other companies, so if you want to be more thorough, here’s this. But even this isn’t all of them.
