Chicana on the Edge

Mentioning the unmentionable since 2004

One Minute

1. I gave blood yesterday. It took me one hour to save three lives. Have you ever saved a life? If not, get in there. If so, get in there and save some more.

2. Today we finished taking down our Christmas tree. Yes, Bob and I are big Christmas people and have to wean ourselves off the holidays very gradually. We’re okay now.

3. I never get sick. And no matter how many times I say, write or shout it, I never jinx myself and get sick. I NEVER GET SICK! (Hey, is that a cough? Nope.)

Mick – in the U.S. they offer us our choices of juice, water, cookies (biscuits) and pretzels or popcorn. Typically American, I'll just sit there and EAT after giving blood, happy for the excuse to eat Oreos. About the Christmas tree, yes you're right. It'll soon come around again. And about my statement about never getting sick coming back to haunt me: do you promise?

    1. They give us a cup of tea and a biscuit when we give blood over here. Do they do anything like that in the US ?

    2. Don't worry it'll soon be time to put the Chrimmy tree up again.

    3. Never say never it'll come back to haunt you.
