Previous post on this topic: What I Was Eating Before
I started the McCombs Plan on Nov. 1, so for this month it’ll be easy to remember what day I’m on. Today I didn’t spend as much on groceries because I’m eating more eggs and ground beef as my animal proteins. How is it going? First, my jeans now fit me loose! I have to use a belt, which I didn’t before. This is excellent news for me!
Now let’s go through the McCombs Plan.
- Supplements – yep, I’m taking those morning and night.
- Water – I have drink 4 quarts a day which is a LOT. I’m managing about 3.5 quarts and must stay near a bathroom because I have an overactive bladder with no ability to hold water for more than about 30 minutes. I don’t drink anything else, but to keep it interesting I squeeze a lemon into it and occasionally turn it into a cup of tea.
- Sweating – I enjoy these more than I expected. My apartment has terrible water pressure, so it takes about 25 minutes to fill my tub, but I use 100% hot water and sit in the bathtub as it fills. I start sweating by the time it’s full and I sweat for 20 minutes solid before I drain the tub. It turns out hot baths are good for loneliness, so it works out perfectly for me! I’ve been struggling with coronavirus isolation.
- Diet – I’m going strong on the diet. Still no sugar cravings unles I’m hungry and actually see junk food. But I’m not dreaming of dessert, which I’m grateful for.
- McCombs insists on moving the bowels frequently, ideally four times a day. I’m off of anything processed so Metamucil is out, but I’m grateful I shop at a market with a large Mexican customer base because it carries papaya all year round. Today I noticed it and remembered that papaya has been an excellent stimulator for me in the past (I don’t know if that works for anyone else?). So now I’m good.
Besides the weight loss, I notice that my digestion is much better and I’m sleeping pretty well. My anxiety is also down, but I’m also doing the Dispenza meditation every morning, so that could be explained by that. I’m working a serious two-part approach to healing: Dispenza and McCombs.
And that’s my update on Day 7 of the Candida Plan.

Thanks for the update. I’m very curious how this will go for you.
I’m glad someone finds this interesting. Thanks for reading, Andria. My body really needs me to overcome my sugar (and wheat) dependence permanently, so I’m pairing the McCombs Plan with my Dispenza meditation to shift my food cravings to protein and produce and off of junk. I’m working on programming my mind to look at sweets and go, “Ew, that’s too sweet.” I already have the ew response for a lot of things I used to love (like that hyper-sweet icing Jewel uses on its cakes), but it’s time to react that way to all artificially sweetened foods/drinks. I’m determined…
