Dear Person Reading My Blog Right Now:
If you wouldn’t mind leaving me a comment, I’d hugely appreciate it. A lot of the hits that any blog gets are automated search engines and websites. So if I see that my blog got 30 visits, that really means that some fraction of that number were actual humans who actually read a post. The rest were not real hits.
Please do me a favor: if you’re reading this right now, leave a comment on this post answering the following question:
How did you discover my blog?
I’m just feeling some blogger insecurity these days. Thanks!
Anonymous, thanks for the comment. What did GF link to on my blog?
Another human checking in! I just followed a Facebook link from Guerrilla Feminist, I liked what I read, and I started poking around. 🙂
Thriller Flash Mob dance partner – it's good to hear from you! Yes, I get rude when I'm at the gym. Sorry.
I met you at the Thriller flash mob and you gave me your card. My husband was the one that brought our new doggie that started barking at the zombies during the performance.
Then, when I went to your blog I remembered your familiar face. You used to work out at same gym I used to go to. One time you were stretching in the locker room and from behind it looked like you were about to pass out! I asked you if you were ok, and you looked at me funny and responded: I am stretching, just stretching…
I am sending happy thoughts your way, or any kind of thoughts that will make you feel better!
Rudy!!
Rudy's still in the house.
Thank you so much, Janet. Please email me at reginamrm at the popular website where you can read Yahoo News.
I really appreciate your words because sometimes I wonder what the point is of keeping this blog. More comment interaction from readers would give me a bigger sense of an audience, but I know not everyone likes to comment.
Back in 2011, I did a Google search on something like how to keep family from visiting you. The search results somehow directed me to your blog. I then went and read all of your posts. I don't want to sound like a stalker, but you and I have a lot in common. I've thought about introducing myself to you personally but not sure how to do this again without coming across like a stalker. I too am a female professional with a husband who is not home a lot because he travels. I also am an unconventional and liberal feminist, And I also have depression, not that those things are related. One difference though is I do love my dogs, and I have three of them. I really enjoy reading about your journey to bring Ozzie into your life and your heart. So please do keep writing because you do have an audience that really appreciates how honest you are with your life. Janet G.
Great! Five real human hits (who are willing to comment) out of 38. Now I know the ratio.
I'm also human and reading!
I'm human and reading!!!
Thank you all for commenting! It's great to hear from you. I knew somone was out there. But this post has gotten 24 hits as of 1/2/13, so if only three of you are human, I guess that means my blog is getting a lot of meaningless hits by search engines or whatever. So it goes.
I don't remember how I found your blog, but it was several years ago. It was probably linked on somebody else's blogroll or I did a search for Chicana or Chicano bloggers. Either way, I've enjoyed it and still subscribe/read.
I'm not certain how I found your blog, but it was probably via the "Next Blog" button at the very top – it takes you to a random blog. I bookmark ones I find interesting; this is one of them. BTW, I'm a robot. (j/k!!!)
I'm reading!!! I have been for awhile, but I don't remember how I got to your blog, but I am glad I did!
