I’m lucky to be married to a photographer. I rarely think of taking pictures, plus I love having my picture taken. Bob is good. |

We stayed at The Island Inn two nights. It’s an old building with that wonderful old house smell. I loved it. The rooms are simple and no-frills, but you cannot beat the view of the harbor and Manana Island. Breakfast was included: our choice of lobster scrambled eggs or blueberry pancakes. Our room was small, but we only slept in there. Bob hiked a lot and I spent lots of time in the cozy common areas where you can read books from their library and warm yourself by the fire. I didn’t want to leave!

Spent hours reading in the Inn’s cozy front room. I didn’t mind the rain at all! Photo by Bob Martin. |

On my fifth day in Maine, driving to Boothbay Harbor, I discovered whoopie pies! Their name is completely appropriate. Photo by Bob Martin. |

The Harborage Inn in Boothbay was our most luxurious room. The place was sparkling and the room had a fridge, complimentary bath salts, coffee, tea and bedtime chocolates and was lined with pampering touches like throw pillows and a real teapot for the tea. A delicious breakfast was included and we enjoyed the BEST quiche one morning and blueberry pancakes the next. I hated leaving early to catch our flight back and missing our last breakfast (homemade puff pastry).

We had just finished blueberry pancakes at The Harborage Inn. Excellent! |
Asked a stranger to take this at a Boothbay Harbor cafe. |

The dog was blissful to have Bob back (he was boarded 5/26-6/2). Bob bought that t-shirt in Portland, ME. It refers to a chain of Northeastern pubs. Bob missed Ozzie a LOT during the week of our vacation. Me, not so much. [photo by me]
